Making It So by Patrick Stewart

5.0

Am I a huge fan of Sir Stewart? Yes, yes I am. Is he on the cusp of being on my list of living heroes? Yes, yes he is. Did that affect my rating? Possibly. Due to the fact that the author narrated this himself, I just HAD to listen to it on Audible, and that did not disappoint (although I had to pick up the hardcover as well for the collectsh). It's an excellent narration, to no one's surprise. I particularly enjoyed his unabashed coverage of the mistakes he has made in his life, both professionally and romantically. Most of the book covers the first half of his life, before becoming the captain of a starship. I always love these "made something from nothing" stories, although it appears quite obvious that Patrick Stewart was identified early in his life as being something special and was given quite a bit of help from his community and, later, the theater, to achieve what has become such a spectacular career. If you're a fan of Patrick Stewart, you're going to enjoy this one.
