Iron Gold by Pierce Brown
3.0
Iron Gold marks the start of the new series or continuation of Red Rising, with this fourth entry Pierce Brown improves in a bunch of ways. Characters and Prose were the most notable to me.
However something different is tried, that being, multiple PoV's. While not necessarily bad, as the characters them selves are quite engaging, the pacing suffers dramatically. By the time I'm invested in a situation, we move on and by the time I return, I've forgotten where we were at. (Lyria in particular was rough, as she was only interesting when interacting with characters I knew).
The pacing issue resolves itself for the last 3rd, when every story line begins intersecting. And I found myself having a good time. Unfortunately that doesn't take away the fact that, for the majority of the novel, I was forcing myself to read.
This was my last favorite read of the series.
