The Secrets We Kept by Lara Prescott
4.0
I grabbed this one from Libby audio as I make my way through the Reese Bookclub backlog. Which means the only thing I knew going in was this would book would feature strong female characters, the book delivered some very strong women!
A historical fiction based on the publication of Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak during the cold war, as told through the eyes of women working for the US Government and the mistress slash typist and editor for Pasternak. I enjoyed learning about this piece of history and Lara Prescott produced a great body of work that celebrates the women who moved the world forward.
Listening to the Audio version, while the voices provided a differentiation in characters and were very well done, I found it hard to keep the multiple story lines straight. I may have ended with 4.5 stars instead of 4 if I had read this book with the ability to take notations so that's my disclaimer.
Overall a wonderful book!
