The Babysitter by Phoebe Morgan
2.0
I once again guessed the killer right at the beginning of the book. It was so obvious it didn't even seem like a twist to be honest. I found the middle portion of the book quite dull. The story didn't really move along we just got to explore what a prick the husband was, and boy was he a prick. Actually pretty much everyone in this story was god awful, or so timid and wracked with jealousy that they became very irritating. Is every woman super jealous of every other woman? That's what came across in the story. I have friends who I love and I'm not jealous of anyone in particular. Maybe super rich people because they have freedom to do what they like without constant financial worry but even then I don't begrudge them, I just want some!
The writing is good, I have no problems with the technical aspects of the book but it was just one of a million and I guess I didn't really understand what made it so special. I feel like I've read this exact book on several occasions. If you just want your sort of generic domestic thriller, I guess you'd call it, then you could do worse than this book but don't expect to be wowed and if you're even remotely good at guessing the killer you'll probably guess this one.
