Beautifully drawn and kept my niece entertained. I've heard the author say he didn't originally have the caterpillar get a stomachache from eating too much, and that it sends kids a bad message - I don't disagree, but I think the low point of the caterpillar's sickness makes the story work, and I can't think of a good alternative. Presumably Eric Carle couldn't either.
