Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera

5.0

Listen for the Lie was such a fun read, it was very theatrical and well-executed!

"True Crime" podcast. CHECK
Unreliable narrator. CHECK
Twisty. CHECK
Meddling Grandma. CHECK

Lucy and Savvy were best friends, always together in their small, Texas town. They had the "perfect lives", Lucy married to the rich and handome, Matt. Savvy is beautiful and popular young woman, , loved by all - especially by the men in town, rumor has it. That is until Lucy is found in a daze, wandering the streets covered in Savvy's blood. It doesn't take long before everyone is pointing fingers at Lucy, accusing her of her best friend's murder. It doesn't help that with whatever happened that night, Lucy suffered a brain injury that caused amnesia of that night.

But that was year ago and Lucy has tried leaving that all behind. Until Ben Owens enters the picture with his true crime podcast, trying to get to the bottom of the murder. Lucy is fired from her job, nearing the end of her relationship with her boyfriend, and going back to the place she swore to never return... home. Now, Lucy is determined to find the truth of what happened that night, even if it turns out she was the murderer.
Earlier this year, I read None of this is True by Lisa Jewel and this book has similar vibes.
