This Is How We Talk: A Celebration of Disability and Connection by Jessica Slice, Kayla Harren, Caroline Cupp

informative lighthearted
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes

4.5

There was so much diverse communication rep in this book. Diverse rep as a whole as well. While the "narrator" of each page was different each time, there was also a lot of diverse representation of different types of children and adults in the background and surroundings of every page. At the very end, the detailed information about all the different forms of communication featured in the book is included as well, for a guide for adults and children alike to expand on the content of the book. Overall, a great book with fantastic representation of disability, connection, and communication. Great way to affirm and introduce adults and children alike to these things.
