the way that this book has been sitting on my shelf for 3ish years now, and i've only just read it😭 i'm not a big romantasy fan, but this series is so propelling. it genuinely gets better with each book.

i LOVE the dark, trickster fae vibes, and the scope of supernormal characters in here, from fae to werewolves and vampires to kelpies and dragons. it's so fun. the characters are great and i live for a good love triangle.

it's not flawless, there are definitely some cringey, eyerolling scenes, and it does drive me insane how every single character just happens to be excessively beautiful and the most gorgeous person the mc has ever laid eyes on(😴), but the good definitely outweighs the bad. i've tried reading so many romantasy novels and authors, and none of them really work for me (sjm being the exception), but there's just something about this series that really aligns with my taste!!
