Marking for re-read and also first time reading from the illustrated version. It was absolutely beautiful and I found myself taking long breaks to just really examine some of the full pages illustrations. It took me three nights of nighttime reading to finish it up and it was kind of a surprise how quickly it went by? I guess I always forget how smooth and short this first book is. As much as I enjoy our first look at Hogwarts and our introduction to Harry, this is still one of my least favorites in the series. The big showdown at the end happens too quickly and it's a fade to black. MEH.

Let's see if this is finally the reread where I make it past book 4...
