i just tbh still don't really understand this book. i felt like what is said in the synopsis was focused on 20% of the time. i was confused a lot of the time, and felt like the characters and stories felt very flat (i am finding this is a common theme with east asian translated fiction and am wondering if its the fault of translation??). mixed throughout was beautiful imagery and great feminist talking points which i enjoyed, albeit laid on a bit thick towards the end.
