I’m just warning y’all now that my review is basically just about Tobias Cruz, because I am 110% in love with this fictional man. He’s legit an absolute dreamboat *swoon*
The book starts off with him as this hotshot playboy pitcher at Avix University, a role that he’s just come to accept and plays into. Then he meets Meyer, and she doesn’t give a shit about who he is or that he’s gonna be drafted into the major leagues. I loved that her just being so no nonsense and focused on school and work absolutely knocks Tobias on his ass and he realizes that in order to have what he wants he actually has to work for it.
Watching their relationship slowly evolve into friendship and then more was absolutely swoon worthy. Like my chest literally ached at how badly I wanted them to be together. AND THEN WHEN HER FIRST SECRET GETS REVEALED and he’s just ok with it and really accepting and just steps into this role that a lot of men balk at… How was I supposed to not fall in love you Tobias?! His character grew so much and I loved how much he was willing to sacrifice and give up if it meant he could have Meyer and B
