"Mister Jitters is: a darkness more real, more terrifying, than any monster."

This book is a good book to read during the fall months, would be excellent around Halloween time as it is creepy. The way that this book is creepy is because you never seem to know what is real and what is just plain weird and potentially not real. It's hard to explain but so much of this book had me confused and just wondering what in the world was really going on.
Lola is sent off to live with her grandma who she has no memory of ever meeting or having anything to do with to the town her mom grew up in and where her parents met.

The town itself is stuck in the time period that this one film was made in. Because of this some of the things that end up happening just get swept under the rug because nobody wants a scandal or to make it seem like this town isn't stuck in this cult classic movie. It's extremely strange and on top of Lola dealing with her father being injured now and her mom still missing it's a lot for her to take in.

Overall this is another book that just had me confused and wondering what in the world was going on. Every time I thought I had it figured out I was proven wrong and things would just take a turn to something else. Lola herself is an interesting character that is unreliable at times because of what's going on and you don't know if she's okay or not or if this town is just causing certain things to happen. It's very strange and is just one of those books you have to read for yourself to understand what exactly happened and how things happened.

I do think that this book is for the middle YA range as some adults won't enjoy this one as much as some other YA mystery books.
