A new favorite author! I enjoyed Half a Soul so I thought I would try another book by Olivia Atwater, and I wasn't disappointed. This book is deliciously gothic, dark, cozy, and magical. Winnie is my favorite type of heroine--complicated, wounded, resourceful, and determined. As someone who had similar life experiences as Winnie, I appreciated the afterword, too.
