The Stopover by TL Swan

3.0

This book started the first 50% as a 5 star read for me. I loved the opening of our main characters’ relationship with a first class flight and layover due to a snow storm. Love that they are unknowingly reunited when she goes to work for him a year later. Love. When we got to the third act breakup, the book lost me a bit. I loved the drama of the breakup and the plot of it, but both characters each spent time being so unbelievably obnoxious and pig-headed and stubborn and it felt like abuse. And when our hero is groveling (love), our heroine keeps talking about resisting and immediately gives in. Very un-gratifying. Still overall enjoyed, but I hate a miscommunication trope done too extremely, and I felt like that’s what this was.
