Blood on the Tracks by Guy Hale
5.0
Second book in the trilogy and the danger is only intensifying, although there's slightly less murder in this one, there are certainly more surprises and revelations.
I loved learning more about Kid's background and his old friend Aksel. Jimmy has the best luck and he's landed a goldmine this time, literally.
His career is blooming, and thanks to some spiritual intervention a new ally is helping pave Jimmy's way to success with a little less murder - the mysterious John R Deal.
The content is dark but the tone is light-hearted and all the characters make for an entertaining time.
One thing is for certain, Ma Lantern is terrifying and someone you definitely don't want to cross.
I also loved the additional touches of the paranormal in this one, and all the sub layers building up around Jimmy's road to success. Excited for the finale!
