The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway

2.0

I have not read anyone else's thoughts on this book. I am sure there are many well-written, thoughtful reviews which defend this novel as a very well-written classic. I am not certain it is not, in fact, well-written, and it is clearly a classic. However, I did not like it, so I am not going to rate it higher just because it is a classic. Two stars is already a bit generous.

The audiobook was only two hours long and it was more boring and felt like it took longer than most of the other novels I've listened to this summer. I guess I know a lot about deep-sea fishing now (?).

Hemingway fans, please help me: I have mixed feelings about, but overall appreciated, A Farewell to Arms. I did not like this one. I think I might try one more before I give up on his style. What should I read next?
