this book definitely won’t click with everyone, and i can see why. but as someone who has been in online fandoms that have completely consumed me (and then imploded much like the Masaki fanbase in this book), thus giving me a horrific existential crisis, it was a book i needed to read. maybe it’ll work for you too, if you’ve had some of the same fandom experiences as me lol
