I LOVED THIS BOOK. It is deserving of all the praise it has received.
This thriller is about a young girl who becomes a con-artist to survive. She eventually begins to work for the mysterious Mr. Smith on even bigger, more dangerous jobs. Her current job involves a love interest who turns out to also be a little bit shady himself.
That’s it. That’s all you need to know going into this. It’s fast paced and shocking. Even for someone who has read A LOT of suspenseful thrillers, there were still some surprises in here. I had a few suspicions (one of which I got right) but my eyes still bugged out a few times.
For a story about a bunch of con-artists, the characters were actually quite likable. And on top of being a great story, the writing is clear and thoughtful — Elston is talented.
