The Temple of Gold had me hooked from the very beginning. Through Euripides isn’t the most loveable character, I grew fond of him as he grew up. You really got a whole picture into these major parts of his life.
I think the constant repetition, racial slurs, and the way Euripides being incredibly unlikeable with the way he treated/talked about women was the biggest issue even though this book was published at a time people didn’t really think twice about it. That being said it was still a solid book with some really heartbreaking scenes where you felt his grief and loneliness deeply.
