4.5 ✨ rounded up to 5 for GR

Okorafor is one of my all-time favorite authors, and once again, she delivers. I loved the seamless blend of magic and science, childhood and maturity, and cultures both very real and those imagined.

I’m deducting half a point because the final villain felt bland, and I wasn’t a fan of how his fatness was used as a signifier of his evilness.

Still, this book was fantastic, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
