This book was so much better in print than in audio format! I loved the language in the book. The author really has a way with words and the setting especially felt so real and engrossing.

The plot itself was…weird LOL. I expected to be more annoyed by the constant threat of sexual violence because that shit is so rote but it wasn’t terrible. Still, it’s what keeps this book from being a 10. That and the pacing in the first half is slower than I’d like, especially since the last third is such a wild and fast ride!

BUT, overall a great read and the perfect appetizer for spooky season.
