Cuddy by Benjamin Myers
5.0
An outstanding novel taking as its core the death and influence of St Cuthbert (or Cuddy, as he was affectionately known in Durham) from his death, the perambulations of his corpse, the construction of Durham cathedral over his bones, and how his story continues in the present.
Split into four sections, some will pull you in more than others. The victoriana MR James pastiche I could take or leave. But the final section, Daft Lad, completely blew me away.
An amazing read.
