They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
5.0
despite them having only 24 hrs together, it wasn’t insta lovely, which rlly shocked me. they went from strangers to friends and then lovers all within the same day.
i bawled my eyes out despite knowing how it’d end. i sat sitting in my bathroom crying my eyes out, and stared at the wall in silence afterwards. i was in denial the entire time [i was spoiled on tt] hoping it’d end differently. this was everything to me. there were so many different dynamics explored and they were all done beautifully. it showed that blood relationships weren’t the only type of family you could have.
i loved how rufus was able to bring mateo out of his shell, even if it was for his last night ever. i loved how they were around each other. i love them.
