Based on the true events of World War I. On July 30, 1918, the Navy League Comforts Committee sponsored a three-day "Knit-In" at Central Park in New York City. This event raised over $4000 and over the course of three days, volunteers knitted 50 sweaters, 48 mufflers, and 224 pairs of socks.
