Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World by Cal Newport

5.0

I was inspired to get and read this after listening to a RevLeft Radio podcast episode in which the host brought up the book and in general the disgust at digital addiction, data mining of personal information and our inability to handle not getting little packets of dopamine all the time. I personally have had phone usage issues brought up in jobs before and tend to agree. I use the damn thing too much. He gives strategies and examples to reduce your usage even if it’s a month long detox. Think of what you could be doing other than mindlessly scrolling and watching videos. I enjoy those but I need to do way less of them.
