Heartstopper Volume 1 by Alice Oseman

5.0

I rarely get an opportunity to read graphic novels – but ever since I came across this webcomic turned Graphic Novel by an author who absolutely surprised me; I just couldn’t resist picking it up!

Heartstopper is a portrayal of same sex relationship between two boys –
Charlie, an out of the closet gay teenager and Nick, a cheerful rugby player – who are in the same class, and soon end up being friends, best friends, in fact!

The Volume 1 of Heartstopper is all about finding yourself, and understanding that sometimes the reality you may have never imagined, is one that you will be facing yourself.

The plot is simple really – but it is the way that it’s been illustrated that catches your attention and your feelings right from the start. It is cute, adorkable and one that you breeze through.

Even if you don’t really read graphic novels, trust me this series is one you just might want to pick up; I should know, I dived into the second book immediately!
