After reading this book, I am left wondering: “how was Taylor Jenkins Reid able to write a book where the fulcrum is something you can’t experience?” Its a book about a band so music is integral, but the reader can’t actually hear the songs. I like that. I like that because it forced me as a reader to use my imagination. The songs the characters wrote became something I felt like I created with them because I heard them in my own head while reading. I liked being able to create something as magical and special as the characters did and feel like we made something together. I like that there are millions of songs out there that every reader made when they read Daisy and Billy’s lyrics, but what I like even more is that each and everyone of those songs are different. Everyone gets to be a rock star.
