The Hidden Kingdom by Tui T. Sutherland

I think this is my favorite of the WoF graphic novels so far. The colors and designs of the rainwings and their environment are simply stunning. Once again this is a well-structured graphic rendition of the middle grade novel. You do not have to have read the middle grade novel, but you will be lost if you haven't read the first two graphic novels in the series.
In the long standing tradition of speculative fiction, this story explores a social issue we face right now, specifically racism and ethnophobia. It also emphasizes the value of friendship and found family, and the need to figure out what things you need to do on your own and when you should ask for help.
