This book felt like a sibling or a cousin to Stardust by Neil Gaiman, in a way. I loved the progression of the connection between the three characters.
The story was quick by brilliant, and honestly the writing was just spectacular from a craft standpoint at times. Not in the same way as more flowery writing that is beautiful but can be over the top. Cerise has a line with alliteration that I liked enough to bother my husband to read to him. Just... good in the way that you read it and you know.
