Maus: A Survivor's Tale. My Father Bleeds History by Art Spiegelman
5.0
I wanted to read Maus 1 again before I read the second part. Rereading this book brought back so many memories. This was one of the first WW2 books that I had read. It disturbed me then, it disturbed me now. It's Vladek's love for Anja and his relationship with his son that always leaves me feeling happy, despite of the sad nature of the comics.
Spiegelman is a great artist. His depiction of Jewish and Nazis as animals was very clever and powerful. It embossed the story of inhumane treatment really well.
I am sure I will read this book again someday. It will always remain special to me. I can't wait to read the second part.
