Torj Elderbrock is a certified YEARNER and I LOVE that for him. Wren Embervale is also a certified badass and I LOVE her. I was sad for Legends to end, but so excited for Wren and Tori’s story. These two circled one another for four whole books and I couldn’t take it any longer!!

The Drevenor academy was equal parts fascinating and scary. What do you MEAN the professors are going to poison us!? It was like Hogwarts potions and herbology classes on speed. I loved it. I also loved watching Wren come out of her shell once again and rediscover her love of all things alchemy, not just poisoning.

And don’t get me started on Torj. I already loved the Bear Slayer, but I love him even more now. He is so obsessed with Wren, and the yearning and tension is immaculate. He is the best example of “looks like could kill you, is a cinnamon roll”, and I love how utterly oblivious he is to all the women throwing themselves at him. He is babygirl.

I can’t wait to see what happens next, because this book didn’t end at ALL like I expected.
