The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence
4.0
Thank yo7 NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Mark Lawrence’s talents lie in immersing the reader in a well-developed world and fleshing out interesting characters. There is so much to this first book in a series and where to start…. In a world that cycles through prosperity and invention to death and destruction, there is a girl living in the desert with a grand destiny ahead of her. Village raided by monsters, she is rescued and taken to the city housing a great library that is bigger on the inside and works her way into becoming a scholar and then librarian of this vast library. This book could have appeal to young adults, too.
