Princes of Sin Omnibus by K. Elle Morrison
4.0
Thoughts. I have so many thoughts. All the thoughts and all the feelings I don't know where to begin. When I ordered this beautiful Omnibus edition I didn't realise that there was a previous book that took place before this one. Jumping into Sitri's story I was confused af for a decent amount of time but was still enjoying myself immensely. A lot happened throughout this book so I've decided to divide this review by going through each prince's story and sharing my thoughts on all of them. Some were ok and others I loved but it was great seeing the progression of each story and relationship, as well as the continued growth of the writing as the series progressed.
Prince of Lust - 3.5 ⭐
A good, easy, and spicy read. I absolutely love that the FMC was a plump WOC who was two celestial beings (because I'm still not sure what Ezekial actually is) wrapped around her beautiful fingers. Unfortunately, because I hadn't read the previous book I found it hindered my ability to fully enjoy this story. Nothing is really explained so it was pretty difficult to follow along without any of the backstory. As much as I did enjoy the story itself, I found a lot of gaps in character and relationship progression and certain plot points I feel should have been explored or explained more. How was she able to give him back his demonic powers when he spent most of the story avoiding his budding feelings for her effectively stunting their progression as a couple?? Why was Ezekial reading too literally off himself when she had to go back to her duties? Why was he so ready to just throw away his relationship with Sitri (whatever the nature of that relationship is because it is not once actually explained)?? I understand that with novellas there is limited space to fit everything but I feel this book could have used a lot more exploration.
Prince of Greed - 4⭐
I enjoyed Stolas and Evie's story a lot as the writing improved and their story held my attention the whole way through. I am still left with a couple of questions like what Stolas' true intention at the beginning had been. He is the personification of greed but it is never explained what it is he really had planned for Evie's dad, an endeavour he immediately abandoned after falling in love with her. I'm not upset at where it ended it up but I would have loved a little more context on where it started.
Prince of Sloth - 4⭐
I really appreciated the deviation from "she's not like other girls because she doesn't care that he's famous" and instead went for "omfg he's famous, lemme shoot my shot." Again, I was intrigued by their relationship and invested from start to finish. Gaap's character was fun and this was the first time I feel we really saw any of the princes acting out on their more demonic tendencies. I love that in the end, she is the one who saved him and I'm obsessed with her absolutely matching his unhinged energy from the beginning.
Prince of Pride - 4.5 ⭐
As much as I loved this section there were things that left such a sour taste in my mouth. The whole conversation between WOMEN saying that nice guys aren't as good as toxic guys (after acknowledging that the nice guy is in fact great in bed and loves satisfying her) felt like incel fuel. Despite this couple getting together much faster than the others, it didn't feel so rushed to me that it ruined my enjoyment. Sometimes Ipos felt a bit underdeveloped but I loved our FMC and how her motivations were something that was properly explored.
Prince of Gluttony - 4.5 ⭐
I feel this was the the first story to fully explore what the printed influence is and how it can not only affect others but himself as well. Oro is an extremely compelling character to me and I didn't expect to find his section so fun and absolutely devastating. The heartbreak and resulting destruction at finally finding that one thing that can satiate the insatiable and then losing it, knowing you'll never have that again. I was reeling right along with him. I was honestly obsessed with how egregiously down-bad this man was. "If she wished, I would drain every ounce of blood and marrow from my body and replace it with her favourite perfume. At least, I would be useful in her eyes." Like sir??? We get so few stories with female doms so I was living for their dynamic but I'm not going to lie, I almost had to drop my rating when she told him to suck his own dick. A ghastly offence I'm scared I will never recover from, to be honest.
Prince of Envy - 3 ⭐
Seeing such an abusive relationship unfolding right before my eyes in such detail was so hard. I feel bad because I'm sympathetic to her situation but I found myself so often just saying omfg bitch just leave him. I liked our prince and their relationship but this one was just difficult to get through. I'm also wondering what happened to all her friends that were with her when she first released him because I feel like they would have some questions after that night and they completely disappeared from the story.
Prince of Wrath - 5⭐
Despite this section being my favourite I have the least to say about it. I just really loved it all the way through. I thought I hated stalker romance because of Haunting Adeline (😒(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) but this made me change my mind. My mans was reading her to filth and professing his love in the same breath and his continued pushing with simultaneous grovel was delicious.
