The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty

5.0

Chakraborty has created such a cool fantasy world in The City of Brass. Nahri is a really cool protagonist who grabs you right off the bat and the supporting characters are all interesting - the author is good at ensuring even minor characters have some complexity. I appreciated how Chakraborty teases the audience with mysteries, and though some of the reveals were fairly predictable, there were still some surprises. Pacing-wise, the first third of the book is a little slow, but the last third gets really exciting. Can't wait to pick up Book 2!
