The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu
4.0
(read as e-book)
The Three-Problem is an enjoyable book. It's translated from Chinese. Sometimes the prose is a bit weird, kind of surreal or detached. But that adds to the general sense of wonderment and mystery in the book. The book is fast paced with a lot of happening. It was interesting to get a sense of Chinese outlook and perspective, even it was tempered by the science fiction scenario. The premise of the book is interesting, although it takes a while for the situation to be revealed. When the information does comes it, its in a form of an info dump. The scenario is engaging and thought provoking. The characters are pretty bland and don't seem realistic. The science is interesting and partly believable. Though a couple of the "scientific" plot devices were basically magic, the "three-body problem" itself is thought provoking.
I recommend this book to people who like science fiction.
