I'm glad I read this despite hating "People we meet on vacation", because this story was so much more adorable and well constructed. At first the story is very slow and it can be stifling to be in Nora's overly worried and organised brain, but the romance makes up for that.
I just love how Charlie is perfect for Nora, and she doesn't have to change her self one bit to be with him. I hate it when characters have to become someone more extroverted, cheerful and conforming to have someone and I'm glad this book steered away from that. There is no 3/4 fight with them either, which is a breath of fresh air and I genuinely couldn't put the book down till I found out how they ended up together.
I also loved the synopsis where everything feels happy and content without having corny and sappy descriptions of happy life. I like that it was open-ended enough to give the reader their own view of a happy ending for the protagonists.
I'm glad I gave Emily Henry another chance, she wrote a very cute, comfortable and respectful romance with fabulous banter, and I appreciate that.
