Solid short story collection - I am horrendously picky when it comes to my short stories and I am glad that Julia Armfield managed to pull me in to her series of mesmerizing and at times horrifying vignettes. Not all stories were a solid five out of five, and I found the start to be much stronger than the second half, but I enjoyed my time with all the stories nonetheless. Given my more lackluster reaction to her newest novel (which I need to revisit and give another shot now) and my adoration for this one, it is safe to say that I consider Armfield an author to keep an eye out for.
