a very interesting look into the world of the supernatural as expressed in the afterword. i like the idea of morbid goth girls intersecting a lil too closely with these strange entities, almost human but not quite. this book is nothing like i've read before, and it stands out for its starkly morbid moral ambiguity, especially in cases where the narrator helps others for questionable and selfish motives...

the two main characters work well in holding the feeling of comfort in strangeness. they stumble through different stories, all out of a desire to see and read about corpses... and there's even a personal journey for them to invest in these lives they end up entangled in, helping to see them in a different light by the end.

by far my favorite book! my only complaint would be with the bonus chapter, which can feel like a slog based on the narration... but well, it's a bonus chapter!
