Ana Huang continues to amaze me, get me out of my comfort zone (in the best way possible) , and I absolutely adore all the characters she’s written in the Twisted series. Originally, I thought I was going to be neutral about Josh and Jules’s story, but… OH MY GOD! Ana really can do no wrong because, this book had me gripped and internally screaming for both the joy and passion in this story! Josh and Jules exceeded my expectations, and reduced me to a pile of ash. If you love the Twisted series (which at this point, WHO DOESN’T?!) this story will give you more reasons to love Ana Huang and the rest of the Twisted series gang.

If you’ve never read an “Enemies to Lovers” trope, first of all, do yourself a favor and read one, and second, this book delivered on enemies to lovers in a way I had never seen before in a story. Jules and Josh’s relationship was filled with hot passion and straight up “I hate you”, but steamy scenes that left me gasping for air! Josh and Jules may not have always been each other’s biggest fan, more like water and oil not going together, but for some reason unbeknownst to them, they had AMAZING CHEMISTRY, and I absolutely loved their dynamic.

In the previous books, we got to see glimpses into Josh and Jules’s… “relationship” more accurately put that they didn’t like each other, and only “tried” to be civil with one another for Ava’s sake (Josh’s sister & Jules’s best friend). This book really showcased Josh and Jules’s relationship changing (for the better) and for all those years of them hating each other, beneath the surface was a fierce fire waiting to come out. Plus, the fact that after so many years, it took a friends (minus the friends part) with benefits arrangement for Josh and Jules to realize their feelings for one another was great, but also very satisfying to see all that pent up anger and steamy, hot passion finally culminate into something so beautiful and fantastic!

This book also had some lovely and bromance moments between Alex and Josh. Before this book, Josh and Alex’s friendship had ended considering what happened in, “Twisted Love”, but in, “Twisted Hate”, there were times that Josh and Alex started to fall back into the old rhythm of their friendship. Josh definitely was still working through his issues with Alex from the betrayal, the lies, and holding a grudge against him. Even though Josh was initially set on not forgiving Alex, thankfully through this story we got to see them reunite and in a way start all over because, who doesn’t love a good bromance. For all the loss time, Josh and Alex managed to make up and for better or worse, they really do compliment each other as one another’s best friend (AWWWW!)

Spice aside, I loved learning more about Josh and Jules’s own lives. For instance, getting to see Jules’s past and how she had suffered traumatic events in her life, as well as self esteem issues with people always referring to her as nothing more than a pretty face. Jules without a doubt is a gorgeous woman, but she’s more than her looks, and I loved how Jules’s approach to her life, her career was filled with determination to not only achieve her goals, but also a slight show to everyone that she was so much more than how people perceived her to be. In other words, Jules Ambrose is the woman I want to be when I grow up because she was a boss queen!

This book exceeded my expectations and took me by surprise, I mean Ana Huang is an absolute genius, and after reading this story, Josh and Jules definitely have my heart in a chokehold and I love them so much! HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE THIS BOOK!
