Simple Passion by Annie Ernaux
2.5
An autobiographical narrative accounts the obsessive love between a woman and a man who we get little insight from.
His affair with his wife leaves you believing he is nothing more than a cheat, and our protagonist is in love with someone who will never return her unhealthy devotion. It was a casual short story, a quick read with good writing, but personally I had no real emotional attachments. It’s unashamedly honest in its one sided portrayal and credit should be given there.
