How To Train Your Human Omega by Arden Fox

3.5

One thing before I start- Given the title, one might be forgiven for assuming that this book is an omegaverse book. Unfortunately that’s not entirely true. While the aliens do have an omegaverse-like society and biology (making assumptions here, because MPREG is never mentioned), between the main couple, that is entirely one sided with the exception of pheromone use in exactly one scene. Because of this, I personally would not categorize it as an omegaverse novel.

That said.

I thought this book was coming to a close like three times before it actually did. Contrary to how that normally makes me feel, I wasn’t mad about it this time. It’s a retelling, and followed the source pretty closely, but it didn’t feel formulaic or traced like a lot of retellings tend to do.

I enjoyed this read and, though I’m not exactly champing at the bit for the next one, I might read it when it does come out.

The characters were endearing and frustrating and I yelled at my kindle more than once, which everybody knows is a mark of a good story.

I wasn’t super thrilled with the way the SA was handled (both during and after), but it was pretty much par for the course in these kids of books.

All in all, not a bad read and, I think, worth the time to get into it.
