This scratched an itch I didn’t know I had. I loved everything about this book.

Set in college/university we follow figure skater Anastasia (Stassie) and captain of the Ice Hockey team Nathan (Nate). Because of a prank gone wrong, they now have to share a practice rink which causes tempers to flare and tension to rise, both professionally and (possibly) romantically.

I loved both characters. The way they communicated with each other was so refreshing to read. Miscommunication is probably my most hated trope so I was constantly waiting for it to appear, but to my surprise any possible hint of it was soon squashed right away.

The cast of side characters were an added bonus. I LOVE HENRY (please can we get a book about him) and the rest of the hockey team were so welcoming and supportive towards Stassie.

The spice was more frequent that I had anticipated, but it didn’t feel over the top. There were plenty of funny moments to balance out some of the more serious issues that the book discusses (anxiety, eating disorders, toxic friendships, death of a parent etc..) which I thought were written about really well. I loved the way we got to see the inner workings of Stassie’s brain and how she broke down the situations that were happening to her, and came to terms with them using techniques from her therapy sessions.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a nice, easy, fun, spicy read.
