Cowboy romances are so fun. This was a quick and easy read. A little bit of pining and secrets leading to a second chance romance. This served as a palette cleanser type book for me and it did its job. I really liked the fmc but the mmc took a little bit for me to like. Probably due to most of the chapters being from her point of view rather than his. Once I got a better sense of who he was I really liked him as well.

The flashback chapters giving glimpses of the summers that the characters spent together were a fun addition. It gave context to the romance while also giving context to what the fmc is going through currently (content warning: grief). Quite a few things are kept a secret or not fully explained until the end leading to a bit of an emotional punch.
