This House Is Haunted by John Boyne
2.0
This is more like 2.5 stars. It had the feeling of a gothic novel, which is a good thing, seeing as how it was set in the Victorian era. It reminded me a lot of "The Woman in Black." Giant manor with a dark history, a new person comes in to experience the creepiness.
It was fairly well written in a bit of a Dickensian style, though because it was a little more stilted, it wasn't nearly as suspenseful as it could have been. I never really had that fully unsettled feeling that you expect to get from a ghost story.
Overall, though, I was entertained more than I thought I would be. It was a quick and easy read.
