A lot can happen in a weekend.
The Weekend Retreat is the latest novel from author Tara Laskowski - thank you to HarperCollins Canada for my gifted copy for review!
Three couples gather at the Van Ness winery estate in upstate New York to celebrate the birthday of twins Harper and Richard Van Ness, including their brother Zach. The festivities are overshadowed by an online scandal involving Harper and her beauty product company.
Chapters alternate between Harper, Richard's wife Elle, Zach's wife Lauren, and an unnamed "Party Guest".
I was first introduced to Tara Laskowski's work with the Halloween thriller, The Mother Next Door, so I was most pleased to receive this ARC. And it's a worthy next novel!
It took me a bit to settle into who's who, but once I got my mental family tree sorted, it was smooth sailing. I loved the secrets and reveals, plus the house's hidden passages and rooms. Recommended!
For release on Dec. 26.
