There's something about Schwab's world and character building. I've read the Shades Of Magic Trilogy and the Villains Duology and I must say that the way she creates her stories and characters and the way both those things interact is really magical. Whether you can travel through worlds, have extraordinary powers or see ghouls, you will find a common thread there, and that is the fact that you are... human. Her characters are humans, with all their flaws and charms.
