This was such a fantastic audiobook that Jason Clark and Ava Erickson did great justice to as the lead Characters Emmett and Briar.. and all the others! They were simply phenomenal! 

It’s the classic story—girl returns to her hometown only to end up moving in with her high school crush, who she hates.

Returning to Willowbrook was my only option after Chicago chewed me up and spit me out. Technically, it wasn’t Chicago’s fault. It was his fault—the man I thought I knew who turned out to be a liar.

Yes Brair ex was a douche and didn’t even deserve to be anywhere near her. But Brair had a secret that she’s not eager to share . 

 

My older sister, always the one to swoop in and fix things, secured me a job as a yoga instructor on her fiancé’s family ranch. As my self-assigned protector, she’s keeping one eye on me and one eye on Emmett Noughton, her fiancé’s brother.

Although I get Jill wanting to protect her sister I just didn’t like the way how she and Ben handled Emmett, it really upsets me .. this was Emmett and they treated him like a stranger warning him not to get involved with Brair . Ugh so wrong ! 

He’s the charming, fun-loving, take-life-as-it-comes kind of guy, and once upon a time, his name was scribbled in my notebooks. Back then, I was invisible to him. Now, he’s looking at me like I’m the only thing in the room. But he lost his chance with me a long time ago.

Emmett is determined to make her like him while her tries to find out what happened for her not to . While giving her a roof over her head after finding out her secret. But when he does it was an absolute shock double shock on both front. 

It’s easy to keep him at arm’s length and nurse the grudge I’ve held onto for years. Until the house I’m staying in sells, and I have nowhere to go except his house. Now, resisting him isn’t just difficult—it’s impossible

Emmett and Briar are  perfectly matched seeing her fall for this incredible guy was as entertaining as it was heart warming, as they turned from enemies to lovers.. 

But credit is due to Emmett as he decided to find out why Brair hated him so much… 

Emmett is the youngest Noughton son and he’s been laid back and fun loving on the surface, but he’s tired of being the butt of his older brothers’ jokes and his ideas discounted and not being taken seriously. 

But for real though, I think they really treated Emmett like crap without realizing. 

There is some slow burn leading up to the spice but when you finally get to it ….. oh lord it’s absolute perfection with Briar and Emmett,

And of course with Jason Clark Narrating whew!! Double Triple the oh lord ! 

But listen, The family meetings always get me all choked up, I find them extremely sweet and beautiful and love when something momentous happens, whether it good or bad, their dad has them go to their mom’s grave. I totally love these moments, It’s even more special now because each of the Noughton brothers found love who are also included in those meetings now. 

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters which hopefully have their own books coming!! I enjoy the world and the family that Piper Rayne created and can’t wait to read more about Plain Daisy Ranch especially with Brooks !! Cannot wait !
