Professional Crocodile by Giovanna Zoboli
5.0
I’m a bit stingy with the fifth star but this was acutely observed, funny, thought-provoking. A crocodile gets up, commutes to her/his job - as a zoo crocodile. What makes me human? What makes me a professional? The tie? The attitude I strike at work?
I loved this book for the wealth of detail (how does a crocodile manage its tail on the loo?), the half-told stories (why the bunch of flowers for the girl on the way to the zoo?), for the well observed urban landscape- and for the wit of the story.
