Adalyn gets into trouble because she assaulted someone at her job for the soccer team “Miami Flames”. Her father, who is also her boss, sends her on a charity project to NC where she has to help revive a struggling little girls’ soccer team. There, Adalyn meets the grumpy coach, Cameron, who also happens to be a very famous soccer star trying to hide out. Together they must help the Green Warriors win the championship to get Adalyn her job back.
Okay so the book started out rough for me because I had no sympathy for Adalyn. While you get to know her reasons later, her behavior was still wrong. BUT!!! The book was still really fun if you put that aside. Adalyn and Cameron are super cheesy together but in the fun kind of cheesy. I thought their relationship while cringey at times was cute, because as I always say to be cringe is to be free.
I did think the business woman who does business and only talks about business was a little much at times but to see her evolve was really cute in the end. But the side characters make up for the stereotypes. I loved little Maria and the goats! They were so cute.
Anyway, I would recommend this book to anyone who is okay with cheesy romances.
Tropes: grumpy/grumpy, small town, he falls first
