I blame Avi and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle for my affinity to books that take place in ships (not to be confused with “ship books”, right Stu?). But I was entranced by this mystery on the high seas. Especially when you’re not sure if this is horror, fantasy, or straight mystery at any given moment.
Moderate: Animal death, Confinement, Death, Misogyny, Blood, Murder, Injury/Injury detail, and Classism
Minor: Alcoholism, Domestic abuse, Medical content, and Alcohol
